The stories, graphics and design of The Grit Gazette belong to us or to the people we license them from. You are welcome to read, link to and share the paper, and to quote short passages with credit to The Grit Gazette. Please ask before republishing whole stories, graphics or photos.

We work hard to get things right and every fact is sourced, but the paper is news and general information, not medical, legal, financial or training advice for your situation. Talk to a qualified professional before acting on it.

Our chat assistants are AI

The Help, opinion pitch and advertising chats on this site are AI assistants, not people. They answer from our published information and can make mistakes. They cannot make binding commitments: an ad booking, price, delivery or acceptance of an opinion piece is only confirmed when a person on our team confirms it by email. If you need a person, ask the assistant and it will pass your request on.

Please do not use the chats to send sensitive information such as health details or payment card numbers, to harass anyone, or to try to make the assistant break its rules.

What you send us

• Opinion pitches. You keep ownership of your ideas and writing. Sending a pitch does not give us the right to publish anything. If we pick your piece, nothing prints until you approve the final text and sign our release, which sets out what we may do with it. You keep ownership.
• Story tips, corrections and photos. Send only what you have the right to share. Do not send photos of other people without their permission. Before we print your photos or a story about you, we ask you to sign our release.
• Everything you send must be accurate to the best of your knowledge and must not be unlawful, defamatory, or infringe anyone else's rights.

Advertising

Ads are subject to our acceptance policy and the editor's approval, and every ad is labeled "Advertisement". Advertisers never buy, review or influence our coverage. See our editorial standards.

Use of the site

Do not scrape the site or the chats in bulk, overload them, probe them for security weaknesses, or use them to send spam. We may limit or block access that does.

Copyright complaints
